what exactly did the home service company of the labour corps do?  do you have any further info on him?

This is your man.He enlisted in 1915 with North Staffs Regiment.He went to France after Jan 1916 and sometime later in 1917 transferred to Labour Corps.
Will email you the Pension Record he applied for also.
He served in 3rd and 9th North Staffs before transfer.

Entitled to British War and Victory Medals.
Good result as only 30% of records survive you are lucky! :)

Do you by any chance have anyone by the name of Joseph Gullon on your list ?

He was in the ASC and we believe he signed up in Bradford.

He isnt on the list but it only contains lads who joined the 16th West Yorks Regiment.
If he lived in Bradford theres a good chance his details are on the City Roll in the library.

Hello  ,i have just come across you messages about the Bradford Pals ,I dont know where to get hold of a list of soldiers who was in the bradford pals ,as im trying to find as much information or pictures of my Grandfathers time in the Bradford Pals .I have cuttings from the Telegraph and Argus about him.
20th July 1917 .COULTOUS Private G.E. has been wonded after 10 months service in France,and is in hospital at winchester.
3 may  1918
Coultous Pte. George ,York and Lanc Reg fomerly  of the West Yorkshire Reg.has been wonded in the leg and is in hospital in Pickering  Yorks .Third time he had been wounded
