Hi Guys,

a growing resource for Norfolk genealogy is the Norfolk section of FreeREG - http://www.freereg.org.uk.  For a list of what is covered so far have a look at http://www.freereg.org.uk/parishes/nfk/frontpage.shtml

There are over 2 million records for Norfolk so far.

I hope there is something there useful to you.

Hi

Very useful. I have found several Norwich relatives on the Norfolk Free REG databases. They will no doubt start indexing more counties soon hopefully starting with London and Suffolk.

Thanks Julie

I tried again for a baptism I have been looking for and think I have just found it.

I am also the coordinator for London - we are slowly starting to make progress there - but as yet don't have access to images in the same way we do in Norfolk.

Lots of other counties are beginning to grow now - so maybe by next Christmas it will be an even better resource for everyone.

Thank you so much Julie for the reminder. I just found my gt grandmother's baptism. I've been hunting for that for ages.

Excellent work! Keep it up.  :) :)

LOL, no worries - just Murphy's law that I suspect my John Laird and Julia Bloye didnt marry - but  i f  they did, would most likely be in St Nicks parish.

Theres a nice little clan of Lairds in the Lynn area, going back to a 1746 marriage, and lots of potential siblings for John also having kids in the 18-teens and 20s - then the 1851 reveals he was born in Portsmouth .... I'm sure its a mistake, but who knows    :)
