When you know her dad's name let us know - there are 2 possible matches on the 1871 census - have you seen these?

Hi Tricia

Nothing more to add just yet about James Blackshaw.

The marriage certificate of James Blackshaw and Bridget Lennon shows her father as Michael Lennon, labourer, which is as expected, despite not being able to find Bridget's birth record.

I have  the 1861 and 1871 (which includes Bridget) census records for Bridget's parents, Michael and Bridget Lennon both born in Ireland.  I also found an 1851 census (Scotland) record for a Michael and Bridget Lennon but probably before the birth of any children and therefore inconclusive.

I think Ashton Town may be different from Ashton Under Lyne? Do you have birth certificate? Will check my info. Many thanks  :)

Ashton Town was a registration district for Ashton under Lyne.
