Census look-up requests in specific parts of Dundee
« on: Tuesday 08 February 05 17:25 GMT (UK) »
Very interested to look for Livingstones in 1841 and 1851 in Dundee, specifically in Murraygate, Seagate and Meadowside.

Also, the Glamis 1851 index shows 2 Livingstone children born Norfolk (Bk 5, sch 37). Who were they living with?

Best Regards
Andrew

Hi,

Have you tried the freecen site?

http://freecen.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl

I did a quick look for the 1841 in Dundee and got these results.  They give the details of the household, address, refences etc on the site.

LIVINGSTONE   Alexander   M   35   Shoemaker    Outside Census County (1841)    Dundee
LIVINGSTONE   Alexr   M   2       Angus    Dundee
LIVINGSTONE   Ann   F   6       Angus    Dundee
LIVINGSTONE   Isabella   F   11m       Angus    Dundee
LIVINGSTONE   Janet   F   35       Angus    Dundee
LIVINGSTONE   William (Jnr)   M   30   Bookseller    Outside Census County (1841)    Dundee
LIVINGSTONE   William   M   20   Carpenter Jrnyman    Outside Census County (1841)    Dundee

Hope this gives you something to work with

Sue

Thanks. Sorry but I should have mentioned that I already checked FreeCEN. Problem is that Dundee is not yet fully transcribed.
