In 1880 he is on the U.S. census.
Any way for me to find out ship's name, arrival port, etc

In the 1871 census he is listed as 14 years old.
This sounds correct.

His wife was not with him on the 1880 U.S. census.
I don't know when she came over, but I do know that it had to be by Dec 1881 as her child was born in the US.
