Hi Trish,

          Did see these Davids in Thurso, but not accepting these are Daniel's. Checked on Whatsinaname.net, and no similarity between David and Daniel. So I think we need more concrete things to start with.

Sinclairs were Earls of Orkney and had Scandinavian connections but were of Norman French origin.

One of them is credited with allegedly discovering North America, and was famed as a maritime explorer.  Can't remember exactly but I believe he was commissioned by the Merchants or Doge of Venice, or perhaps Genoa.  Rootschat historians will know more.
