Always a sad fact of life, unfortunatly.  :'(
But given the health care available and living conditions at the time, not entirely surprising.

You and the othe researchers do such a great job helping us to answer questions about our family history. I really appreciate all the help.

Although mum tells me that she believes they both died well before Joyce did in 2002.
