Wow, Maggie and BG - thank you so so much! This is fantastic!

I had a bit of information about some of Sarah's siblings, but not as much as you have given me!

Can you find anything about a Harriet Scoffins, born about 1826, possibly to Sarah? She goes on to marry John Gonville/Grenville (?) Fisher and move to Thurlby...

And is there any mention of the MASON family connection? Being cheeky, I know!

Hi treegirl,

Glad to help - my head is spinning with Scoffins  ;D
Will look for Harriet now  :)

BG - Amazing what happens accidentally....... I was following your lead and looking in '51 for Anna, didn't find her but found a MARY Scoffins b. abt. 1831 in Whatton working as a House Servant in Sibthorpe, Notts.  Then I found possible Anna in 1871, listed as Ann Scoffins, a visitor at the home of a Richard Culley.  Ann gives her occupation as Housekeeper, she is unmarried, born in Whatton.

Sarah became Holmes on marriage as we know, so I've just looked for their children and have found two in Whatton, but not Harriett as yet, these would tie in with the couples marriage on 8th August 1825, well just about hehe!!! :-

Abraham 4.4.1826
Thomas 26.7.1829
