Charles BLACKBURN : Overton marriage lookup circa 1808 please

Hello

I wonder if anyone has the Overton marriage parish registers at hand.

I am looking for the marriage between Charles Blackburn and Mary (surname unknown) in Overton circa early 1800's.

The only info i have is that their daughter Jane Blackburn was baptised 17th July 1809 in Overton.

I dont have the registers  -  however I do have BTs. 

I have found 6 baptisms for children of Charles and Mary Blackburn in Overton:

Hannah  31 Aug 1800
Isabella  5 June 1802
Joseph  23 Nov 1804
Charles  20 Feb 1807
Jane  19 July 1809
Thomas  29 Mar 1812

However, I can't see a marriage for Charles and Mary  -  I looked back to 1790  -  perhaps Mary was not from Overton and they married in her parish         Or perhaps it was missed off the Bishops Transcript      At least you know it was probably before 1800 

There are several Blackburn(e) families in Overton at the time - Stephen and Hannah,   Elias and Sarah,  Richard and Elizabeth,  and Christopher and Jane.  Of those, only Elias' marriage appears in Overton BTs.

Thank you very much for the sibling info you have provided me with. Excellent.     Yes it would appear they married before 1800. That gives me something to go on.

Hampshire Allegations for Marriage Licences Granted by the Bishop of ........

BLACKBURN, Charles, of Mapledurwell, yeoman, 21, & Mary Benwell, of Up-Nately, 21, at U.N., 5th Feb 1798.

On the marriage cert of my Jane Blackburn of 1838 it gives her father Charles occupation as a Labourer. Do you think the above marriage could be my Charles and Mary ?

Well, I really dont know       If it helps, I've just had a look at Mapledurwell BTs for 1800-1812 and there are no Blackburn baptisms there  -  so they didn't,  apparently,  go back to Charles' place      Up Nately has no Blackburn's either   

Overton is on the other side of Basingstoke to Maple and Nately  -  about 7 miles - so yes, possible

Thank you so much for looking at the Mapledurwell and Up Nately BTs for any Blackburn baptisms. I did not expect that. Seeing that there are no baptisms at these two parishes it really is tempting to add this Charles and Mary to my tree 

Could i ask of you another favour please 

Jane Blackburn's 1st husband was James Burgess. They married in Overton 5th Dec 1833. I know he died between 1833-1838 because Jane remarried in 1838.  A James Burgess died aged 32 and was buried in Overton 22nd July 1835 aged 32 according to a fellow rootschatter. Would it be possible for you to lookup a baptism for him please.

Well  -  I found one - but - it was in the wrong year   

James Burgess  22 Feb 1807  parents Thomas and Rachel.

other children:
William  12 Jan 1805
Sarah  10 Jan 1806
Anne  21 July 1809

Thomas Burgess married Rachel Sampson 5 April 1804

No other Burgess baps in Overton.

Thanks for looking up the James Burgess baptism and the further info.  You have been very helpful today   Yes it is not quite the right year if his burial age is correct.

A while back another rootschatter gave me this info :
BURGESS, James son of  Thomas & Rachel baptised 22 May 1814, Overton.

It would therefore appear that the 1807 James Burgess may of died young.

Yes that is correct.

At least i now know James Burgess was not baptised in Overton.

I am on the verge of adding Charles Blackburn (Mapledurwell) & Mary Benwell (Up Nately) to my tree.

I am so undecided
