Wow ! that was quick English - looks like my Charles James who married Mary Higginbottom.  Also, the Jane Hegginbottom (servant) could be a relative.

I wonder what the C../Journeyman could be, Carpenter perhaps ??

Thanks a lot

Hi Mobo,
I am not having very much luck in locating your Andrew ancestors in A-U-L.

I checked the 1841 census of Ashton HO 107/532-533. There are a lot of Andrew's listed, but nothing to match the names you gave. I also checked Audenshaw & Mossley, but again without luck.

I had hoped to at least find Charles James Andrew   on the 1841 returns for you. Sadly, parts of the 1841 census of Ashton are very faded/damaged and are impossible to read.

I did find your Charles James Andrew on the 1851 census, so I will check through that census again to see who else is listed. If you can think of any other info which might help, please let me know.

Linda

PS, Yes, it does look as if Charles James Andrew was a Carpenter.... he had served an apprenticeship according to the census return.

HI English

Thanks once again for all your sterling efforts - but don't worry, if you can't find any more Andrews then that's fine !!

My interest in them is, that through their link to 'my' TURNERS;  I consider myself lucky to have found the info I already have.
