Leighton Buzzard Burials - BURRIN/GARSIDE
« on: Thursday 22 January 09 19:20 GMT (UK) »
Hello everyone, I need some help. I have two ancestor who died in Sussex, but are not buried there. I believe they may have been bought back to Leighton Buzzard to be buried as they are descendents of the Garside family. One died 1946 and the other 1966, could anyone tell me who I could contact to check the burials in Leighton Buzzard.

Any advice would be gratefully received, Brenda

 Hi Brenda....

I know the local library has details of burials both in the graveyard at All Saints and the burial ground at Vandyke Road. That would be more likely as very few would be being buried in All Saints by this time unless in the vaults.
I am due to go over to Leighton this weekend so I can call in and have a look for you can you give me the details for them please, either here or via pm if you wish.

Hello Tazzie, thank you so much for your very kind offer, these are the details=

Ellen Esther Burrin nee Garside  died March qt, 1946

William Burrin [her son] died Dec. qt. 1966

if you should come across any other Garside burials perhaps you could take a note of them.

Kind regards, Brenda

  Hi .....

Had a check in the filmed records for you today. They do not have an index so just checked the years needed and the whole qt either side. However I could not see them at Vandyke Rd or as a late burial in All Saints.

No Garside or Burrin names came to light in Vandyke for those years but the complete late burials for All Saints was easy to check and I found...

  Jan 9 th 1925
William Garside age 83 of "Oakdene" Lonsdale?Rd Hove Sussex

William Burrin  ( date too faded but @ 1936 I think March)
age 76 of Upper Shoreham Rd Kingston by ?  ?  Sussex

Harriett Burrin of Southwark? 1939 age 79.

Vandyke Rd opened in the 1880's so not sure where else they could be. There is what my nan always called the "chapel" corner which could be Methodist but not sure if they would be listed seperately.
Garside's quarry is Leighton end of town as opposed to Linslade but there is always a chance they could be at the church in Old linslade.

Sorry could not find more .
