Addresses of many Children's Organizations
http://www.barnardos.org.uk/childcare-2.pdf

found this...Children listed in Industrial and Reformatory Schools

including 2 middlemore homes....census data provided for some
http://www.missing-ancestors.com/ALPHABETICAL%20LIST%20OF%20ALL%20SCHOOLS.htm

This 1881 Liverpool census listing below shows Liverpool Industrial homes for R.C. boys... a huge amount of children in 4 institutions...
Beacon Lane (later ST VINCENT'S, Beacon Lane. Sister Myddleton and Sisters of Charity/Rev. Canon Fisher.) 1881 census just calls this section "   "Catholic Boys Indust Sch" http://www.missing-ancestors.com/liverpool_orphanage_industrial_info.htm
Then next is listed as St Georges Boys Indust School For R C Boys - Derby Road ( Thomas & Ellen BRINDLE )
Then "Liverpool Industrial School" ( headed by William & Emily BARCLAY) 19 Everton Terrace ...so the three sections seem to span the length of 3 addresses...  After these long lists of children is the Institution "West Derby Union Workhouse For Sick Poor" Mill Rd
ALSO remember to look at all the subsets for each page!!!!

Home Children Descendants Site
« Reply #4 on: Monday 23 July 07 00:58 BST (UK) »
Hi--just wanted to add to the list of links relating to the British Home Children,

If you are a descendant of a British Home Child or if you have an interest in the British Child Migration Scheme, we hope you will join our new website, which is the extension to the Rootsweb British Home Children mailing list.

Our site is a free, open and voluntary project which, we hope, will become a valuable resource for the million or so descendants of the 100,000 children migrated from Britain to Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. We offer lots of great features, including a photo gallery, research journal, BHC calendar, and so much more.

Membership is and always will be free to all. Become a part of our great community.
