Scottish certificates are available on Scotland's People website (pay-per-view).
See here for details about ordering Irish certificates-

Scotland's People gives examples of Scottish certificates on their site.

Irish marriage certificates give date and place of marriage, name of bride and groom (their marital status, whether or not of full age*, residences at time of marriage, fathers' names + occupations), names of 2 witnesses, name of officiant.
*this was changed from whether or not of full age to age in years (c1946 for Northern Ireland) and then changed to birthdate (c1973 for Northern Ireland).

Hi, I have been doing research on the Waters family origionally from Sligo but I have noticed that sometimes the spelling is WATERS other times WATTERS. It's quite frustrating :-\][/color]
Maxwell - Glasgow and West Lothian
Waters - West Lothian

Thanks, i bite the bullet and paid the 5 Euros to get the Marriage Cert of my Gt Grandparents.

and on it it had:
William McWatters son of Hugh McWatters (a miner) to Margaret Anderson daughter of Thomas Anderson (a farmer)

married 18 Aug 1910 at Newtoncrommelin Presbyterian by licence Rev E J Gilmore

address of them was Omerbane.

I have now also found their shipping list from UK to NZ and it was on the SS Mahana

Glad that you were able to get more information but if you re-check the marriage certificate I think you will find the minister was W.J. Gilmore- William Johnston Gilmore was minister of Newtowncrommelin 1888-1916.
