'The Slip' Widcombe, Bath
« on: Sunday 01 February 09 18:37 GMT (UK) »
On one of my ancestors birth cert (1840) his address was Claverton Building,
Widcombe, but it also states 'The Slip'. Can anyone tell me what 'the slip' referred to please?
cheers

There was a Slip Road between Claverton Street (where Claverton Buildings were) and  the towpath.

I believe the dwellings along the slip road were later called Riverside Cottages.
