There is an Ann PICKERING on the 1851 Census, born 1831 Kingswinford Staffordshire, parents Allen and Sussanna... as per the children of Thomas and Phoebe in 1861.  So most likely the right family....

Hi Irish,

I am researching Ann Pickering's line (parents Allen and Susannah). Allen is from the Wrockwardine area in Shropshire. I have traced them back to the mid 1700s. If you would like to see what I've compiled, please inbox me.

Greetings, WOLVERHAMPTON HIGGS -

I am interested in the Wrockwardine PICKERINGs, particularly the family of Allen PICKERING (b. 1804) who married Susannah CARTWIGHT.  I believe his sister, Ann PICKERING (b. 1805), was my 3rd great grandmother.  She married Joseph COOPER circa 1826 and moved to Pennsylvania, USA, by 1832, where Joseph was a Coal miner.

My research shows that their father was Allen (1750–1816) who married twice: 1st to Ann OLIVER (1752–1790) and 2nd to their mother, Sarah RIGBY (1772– ).  I show a faint DNA Match between a RIGBY descendant, my father and a cousin of his, so that gives me some reassurance that I am on the right track.

My user name on Ancestry is the same as on this site.  I would be interested in knowing if my research aligns with yours.  Sorry. I can't seem to work out how message on here.
