There's no children in 1901 and looking at the household only in 1911 it looks like there are probably 2 children - Ethel (1902) and Edna (1910). 

I've not looked at the image so these might not be the right ones (but I would think they are)  It's somewhere to start.

william rowe who married a doris watson  in 1920 in Leeds he was a motor mechanic living at 7 st marks grove leeds they had a son in 1923 called sydney rowe william and doris were married in register office think the office was called emmanuel i think and not sure that william rowe could of been born 1888 but im not sure anyhelp would be greatfull as i can't get anywhere with this line thanks

I think your next step maybe would be to purchase and obtain William and Doris's marriage cert from Leeds Reg Office.

You'll need to tell them the full names of both bride and groom which year and which quarter.


If you apply direct to Leeds you wont need the Volume and page number as the indexes are arranged diferently in Leeds.

  If you live in or near Leeds, the people who work in the Registrars office in the Town Hall are very helpful. Providing the office is not too busy they will go to a lot of trouble to find people for you. I am very grateful for their efforts.

Are you sure that you have got the right parents for your William ? If William was born in 1888 then John Atha Rowe would have been 14 and Harriet nee Taylor would have been 10.
If they are right then I think you should look for a William born about 10 years later, that would also fit well with a William who married in 1920 unless of course he had been married previously (that would explain the register office marriage but Leeds Register Ofiice is called Leeds Register Office not Emmanuel).
The nearest birth I can find on FreeBMD b Leeds is in 1904 Q3 9b 402
There is a marriage of a William Rowe in Leeds 1920 Q1 9b 778
but his wife's name is Grace McHale
