These are possible ideas.
Samuel Bradley Christened on the 13 Aug 1786 South Normanton. Parents Robert Bradley & Sarah. Found on IGI.
Other children of Robert & Sarah Bradley.
Hannah 10 oct 1784
Ann 26 Oct 1788
Hannah 7 Aug 1790 All christened South Normanton.

Also there is a removal order from Chesterfield to Newbold, Derbyshire. Persons are Samuel Bradley, Ann Bradley Children of Robert Bradley (a Private soldier) to Newbold 1794.
Here is the link  to the page http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~spire/Yesterday/RemovalC.htm

I hope these help.

Alan, here is a link to Derbyshire Record Office and there is information regarding removal orders and settlement. http://www.derbyshire.gov.uk/leisure/record_office/our_collection/poor_law_removal_orders/default.asp

I have a removal order for one of my ancestors in Kent but it gives very little information except for the families names and the town of removal and settlement(which was useful in establishing siblings etc). Therefore they do vary in what information they can offer. There are also links to the subject on this site in the reference topic list.

I think the site that I gave you the link to will send you a copy of the removal order for a small fee, if you contact the site owner he may be able to discuss what that particular removal order contains.
This is the homepage to the removal order link that I sent to you.

The query regarding Robert being "a private soldier" I am not sure whether it means he was a private in the army but maybe some other rootchat member may be able to explain.

hope this helps if any queries post on the relevant board.
Best Wishes Teresa

Re. my recent inquiry, could anyone shed any light as to what Army regiments, would have been around  in the Derbys / Notts area in the 1790's?      Sherwood Foresters perhaps?
