Hi Pauline,

Thank you so much for that! It certainly sounds like them.

I think my next move will be the parish records.

Thanks again

Hi Paula

I have some transcript of the registers for Chipping Norton so I took a look for your Burmans -

No suitable baptisms or burials in Chipping Norton except
Rhoda baptised 4th June 1854 Chipping Norton - d/o Thomas & Mary Ann

however in 1851 census
Walters Bush - Chipping Norton

Thomas Burman H M 41 born OXF Churchill
Mary Ann 32 born Bleddington
Mary Ann 14 born Bleddington
Thomas 12
James 10
Leah 7
Henry 5
Ellen 3
Emma 2
the rest bron Chipping Norton

From IGI - Churchill

Thomas baptised 24th June 1810 s/o James & Mary Burman

&

Thomas baptised 24th Feb 1839 s/o Thomas & Mary Ann
James baptised 25th April 1841 s/o Thomas & Mary Ann
Emma baptised 18th Feb 1849 d/o Thomas & Mary Ann
Helen baptised 12th Sept 1847 d/o Thomas & Mary Ann
Leah baptised 24th Sept 1843 d/o Thomas & Mary  Ann

so it looks as though Thomas took his kids home to be baptised

possible marriage
1835 Heythrop Thomas Burman = Marianne Clarke

Hope this helps

Debbie
