Aliens Registers in Nottingham
« on: Monday 09 February 09 14:00 GMT (UK) »
Jacob Schloss was Polish, lived in Nottingham from about 1900, & because he wasn't naturalised, had to sign some sort of Aliens Register during the First World War. This may have been at a police station.

Does anyone know if these registers are likely to have survived &, if so, would they be kept somewhere in Nottingham.

Thanks for any info.

Betty

Betty SheronB found hers at the West Midlands Police Museum. There isn't such a thing for  Notts, but try Notts Archives or Nottingham Central library ( local studies dept.) If you need anything looking up PM me and I'll see what I can do.

Thank you jaywit, I'll PM you :)

Thank you Sue, I've got that census, it's the first definite sighting of him in England (a possible in 1891 in London)
I've no idea what information would have to be given by aliens on the registers, but anything is more than I have now ;D
