District Commissioner - Bengal, India ~1900
« on: Monday 09 February 09 21:54 GMT (UK) »
I have just posted a photo on this site, and it has been suggested that my ancestor may have been a district commissioner in India (possibly Bengal) between 1899 - 1910.

I have tried FIBIS and found no mention. Can anyone else suggest any other reference sites that might help?

thanks

Hi CoxDodd,

I think most of the reference sites that have been mentioned on RootsChat are already in here:
Topic: INDIA: Resources for Ancestors in British India
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,30580.0.html

if we get any others here, I'll add them to this list.

Good luck,
Bob
