Thankyou Monica will check out the death of Humphrey
Thanks to you also Osprey, that is the correct David  on the 1861 census with daughter Jane.David Edwards is the son of David  born c.1797.The 17 year old Elizabeth on the 1851 census looks a strong possibilty, Elizabeth was married sometime before 1856 as she was with her mother  in 1856 when she died listed as  Elizabeth Jones on the death cert. she is also with her grandfather David Edwards when
he died  in the union workhouse in 1860. I will send for the wedding cert of Jane as I have her husbands name. anyone care to have a look for Elizabeth Jones on the 1861 census?Elizabeths father David died november 1871 in the Oswestry workhouse, could anyone see if he was still living with Jane in 1871.
Thanks again for all your help

1851 Lower St, Llanfyllin HO107/2499 folio 356 pg 24
John Morris head mar 46 ag lab b. Pennant
Mary wife 38 b. Llanrhaiadr
Margaret dau 8 b. Llanfyllin
Sarah dau 6 b. Llanfyllin
Mary dau 4 b. Llanfyllin
Jane dau 2 b. Llanfyllin
David Edwards father-in-law widower 72 pauper formerly ag alb b. Denbigh Llanrhaiadr

I'd guess that it's Llanrhaeadr ym Mochnant as that straddles the county boundary

1871 Portland Place, Oswestry RG10/2871 folio 53 pg 22
David Evans head mar 45 railway carriage examiner b. Montgomeryshire, Castle Caereinion
Jane wife 46 b. Llanfyllin
Margaret Catherine dau 18 milliner b. Shrewsbury
John son 16 telegraph clerk b. Shrewsbury
Henry son 13 shop assistant b. Shrewsbury
Walter son 10 errand boy b. Shrewsbury
Sarah jane dau 7 b. Shrewsbury
Mary Ellen dau 6 b. Shrewsbury
David Edwin son b. Shops, Whitchurch

so no David. I'll have another look. There's loads of possible Elizabeths...

had another look for Elizabeth. Haven't spotted her as yet in 1861, but this could be her in 1871

Gomer/Gower St, Llanfyllin RG10/5632 folio 36 pg 21
John Jones head mar 37 mine agent
Elizabeth wife 38
Catherine dau 13
Frances E dau 7
Sarah R dau 4
all born Llanfyllin

1881 ref RG11/5498 folio 111 pg 42
1891 ref RG12/4601 folio 98 pg 15 with grand children in house (transcribed as Whitecare but looks more like Williams to me) presumably children of Catherine as other daughters unmarried.
Possible marriage dec qtr 1888 Llanfyllin with Thomas Williams on the same page
