My great great grandfather Robert McLaren  from Ireland was married twice, once to Mary Stewart and once to Janet/Jeanie Laughlan ( no idea which was first). I have hit a brick wall so wonder if these names ring a bell. I have no idea where in Ireland he came from but his sons, John, Thomas and William came to Paisley from Ireland between 1861 and 1871.
Robert was described as a railway labourer (twice) and railway platelayer
in his son's marriage certificates.
