Germany: WANNENMACHER research
« on: Saturday 14 February 09 09:55 GMT (UK) »
I'm trying to help a friend and have come across a stumbling block.  I know nothing about German research !!!

Johann Friedrich WANNENMACHER was born in Frankfurt am main abt. 1829.
He met Anna Maria Margarethe KREUTZER who was also born abt. same time and same place.
However, due to different names on the records of her children, she could be Maria Anna Margarethe, Margaretha Maria Anna or any combination in any order...but always KREUTZER.

The earliest birth of a child I have for them is in Sydney in 1857 although I have records of other children but not births.....which I am guessing are prior to this date.

Am looking for Johann and Anna's marriage - presumably in Frankfurt am main and anything further back on their lines or when they left Germany.

If anyone can help, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I forgot to say that I have birth records for all but 3 children.

One possibly 1855 but the other 2 I have no idea on...which is why I presume to be earlier.

Hi Jackie,

Quote
or when they left Germany.
do you have them on any ships lists, coming into Australia ?
Apart from the date, sometimes there are some other useful details there.

That might be worth a seperate (linked) topic on the Australia board.

Unfortunately not Bob.

Although this isn't my family, like many of my lot it seems they swam here or aliens transported them. hehe.

My Name is Paul, I am the Great grandson of Johann Wannenmacher and Anna Marie Kreutzer, I kinow there is some information on their gravestone in the Melbourne cemetary. They did arrive in Australia in 1856 on a ship from Hamburg.

I have recently become interested in my family history. I have done my fathers side and am now looking into my mothers side of the family.

Their son Henry Dudley Wannanmacher was my grandfather, he was married to Marie delaroche  and their daughter Allison Wannenmacher was my mother.

I have a list of Births and Deaths of Wannemachers given to me by a cousin Ashburner who was compiling a family history, It is hard to follow but something can be gleaned from it..Paul

Hi Paul,

I have you in this tree.
You are from Henry Dudley's first marriage.

Have you met Leonie?

Her Grandparents were: Henry Dudley Wannenmacher and his second wife, Emma Connors Herren.

It's Leonie's tree I'm working on.

Would love to share information with you.

Hi, I have just come across this post 10 years later.  I am a direct descendent of Johann Freidrich Wannenmacher. He came out on the ship called the Daniel Ross from Frankfurt in 1854 to Sydney. Please contact me if you would like more information.
