There is  Robert Saunderson (Edenderry) in the Irish Civil Register which began in 1864, and while might not be you 'exact' Robert, there might be some connection.

Hi Jack,

Yes, that is my Robert Saunderson.  Thank you so much.  I think he was the only Robert Sauderson family in the 1800s in Edenderry.  He had a son who was also called Robert Saunderson. 

I am trying to figure out what happened to his family.  They don't seem to be in the Ireland telephone book in or around Edenderry.  I thought my only hope to figure them out would be to know the names in the Edenderry cemetery.

There's possible matches for James Whittaker and Robert Saunderson on Griffith's valuation. These records are dated 1854 and 1853.

James Whittaker's landlord is the Earl of Rosse - the gentleman that built the large telescope (largest in the world at the time).
       
There's a number of Whittaker entries in Co. Offaly on the census returns that might be worth checking see :

  Whittaker 1901  and Whittaker 1911 
 (for some reason the searches also return a few from Co. Laois.. not sure why)

Whittaker family still in Tullamore but not sure of (all) addresses.  There were two sons perhaps more. One lives at * but other some where else in town - one works in * and the other in *.  PM me if you wish and I can check further but I do know that they are  very hard to contact.  I knew Charlie and wife well, RIP.
