Please Decipher 1609 Marriage
« on: Monday 16 February 09 21:45 GMT (UK) »
Good morning
I'm trying to work out whether this marriage is the marriage of a John EARLE or with a similar spelling.

I can't work out what Jone's surname is....apart from her being a widow.

This marriage is from East Chiltington in Sussex 1609 and the SFHG Marriages doesn't seem to have this marriage listed in their CD.

Hopefully someone may be able to help.

Regards

Hmm, not sure what John's surname is - looks like Geres?  And Jone's looks like Reenes?

John's surname is definitely -eres, almost certainly Seres.
And Jone's is definitely -eenes.

So, Webby, not similar to EARLE!!

IF that's all you are concerned about ...

Yes, your certainly correct... it isn't the Earle marriage at all :(

After reading through the full page (again), the following marriage entry has an Edward....the 'E' is certainly different to what I thought of being the Earle marriage.

Back we go the film again...I'm actually starting to work out the writing after looking at it for so long these last coupole of days.

JAP....I would love to know Jone's surname....she's my 9th GGM!

Many thanks
