Not so sure about this - I think this family are in Allensmore for 1841 and 1851 census, with a christening for William on 3 Oct 1830 in Peterstow to Richard and Ann.

One aims to please m'lady (where is that curtseying smily?)

There is a THomas Cooke bn Grosmont on 1851 census enumerated as a farm labourer lodging with JAmes and MArgaret Price HO107; Piece: 1978; Folio: 706; Page: 8.  But not sure - surely if the family were as well to do as they seem, THomas would have been more than a labourer?

Re the Australian death cert:

Don't believe everything written on it - one of my gt-grandfather's children emigrated to Oz and another to NZ.  Their mother's maiden name was given on the death cert of one as Mary Voss and on the other as Thomasin Voss.  Actually her real maiden name was Thomasin Lawson, step-daughter of one Richard Voss. Presumably the informants were just relying on family memories.

Sorry, that's a bit negative, when we are supposed to be helping you, Floozy! ::)

transcribed baptism for Emma in Llangattock Vibon Avel 1/1/1827 & possible burial for Richard in the same year on this link. Baptism has Richard as schoolmaster.

My mother actually has Emma's Death Cert.  It lists her parents and all of her children, including the one who died. Still cant find that one.   BUt I havent got access to my mothers belongings at present  and my sister not bothered to go though boxes in garage  :(
