Hey Geoff,

I like the "flashing family crest thing" idea - it would be a bit like when you call for  the assistance on an aeroplane, which lights a little indicator above you - then they reset it when they have helped you. I like it - I'll look into it for you.

Trystan, Glad you like the idea. Best to reduce any crest in scale as it's a bit big at the moment for just an indicator. You've got the gist  :D Geoff.

Graceland - You're smiley hug made me jump - there he was with his little arms spread out and suddenly he was off, hugging himself with glee - I love it, I want one, where did you find him ?

Hi all,
Yes Roots Chat has been helpful to me, though I think I have become a boring guest.
What has proven hard to me is that while I know my grandfather was born Aug. 13, 1865 in Lincolnshire,  I know nothing of his parents.
I know he arrived in the States in 1901.  I also know he married my grandmother in McLean County, North Dakota, in 1908.
Furthermore I ran off a 1930 census list for Horse Shoe Valley Township in 1930.  He is listed as being 65 years old.
I know he died in the same township of McLean County in 1952.  I am not sure of the exact date, but I could get a copy from our State capital in about a week.
Having said all that, what is really confusing is how to fill in the blanks.

Hi there-have you the info from the 1881 census, if you send me his name and details you have I'll look for his record on the CD

Definately Yes.

The site has been a great help to me. A very kind person has done a great deal of research in Bedfordshire for me on a line I am having great problems with. Every couple of weeks I get another instalment.

Since I joined it's definately grown and I'm sure given a little bit of time will be the BEST. :) :) :)

I come on here more and more now. Other sites are going down this is on the UP :) :) :)

Brilliant bunch of people
