Thank you for the words of welcome and advice. Much appreciated. In this case, I'm starting with the man I mentioned, my granfather's great grandfather. I know his birth date and wedding date and his first and last name/surname and his wife's name and maiden name. I hope to find out his history a bit. Cheers my friends!

I have been a member of Rootschat for 15 years this month, long may it continue, over lockdown it has become  a sort of  club where people have written their daily diaries which have been very interesting  to say the least and continued its normal function of helping each other during the time

Keep up the good work Rootschat

Amazingly helpful lots of kind knowledgeable and patient people on here.
I really like the ethos .It makes it easy to ask a question without feeling stupid .
& willingness to share makes it easier for people who cant afford to join lots of sites or buy multiple certificates

This has been a great support friend to me as family history and genealogy has been explored.
I have lost count of people I have encouraged to use this delightful group of unselfish souls who love to help each other !!
THANK you roots chat for solving many mysteries and being patient with my requests...
