« on: Saturday 21 February 09 18:38 GMT (UK) »
Looking for George and Alice Thexton.  The name is variously spelt as Thaxton, Theakstone and variations

In 1841 they were in Nateby but before that Kirkby Stephen so possibly in Lancashire, Cumbria, Westmoreland or Yorkshire.

1841
George Thaxton aged 30
Alice aged 30
James aged 8
George aged 6
Mary aged 4
Thomas aged 2
Joseph 7months

I've looked at the indexes on Genes and Findmypast and nothing comes up.

Thankyou for your help

Sylviaann

Thank you you are so quick.

Why don't they come up on the indexes?  I've tried 3 so far today.

Thank you very much.

James Theakstone rightly or wrongly has been given the birthplace of Naseby instead of Nateby, so you can't always be certain of correct spellings.

But those that mum44 found were all in the Ancestry indexes with Nateby used as keyword.

Thanks perhaps I'll try to fiddle a free 14 days with Ancestry.  I'm not keen on spending money as this is my bro-in-laws family.  I got all my side years ago.

Thanks again
