William John DARMODY

Seeking information regarding parents etc of the above. William John Darmody was the licensee of the Parachilna Hotel, South Australia from 1883 to 1909 and prior to that was employed on Moolooloo Station amd Nilpena Station. Also interested in finding out when the family arrived in Australia.

Any clues about his parents' names etc?  That would make a census search for them and him easier.

Hi and thank you for the interest.

We understand that William John Darmody was born in 1837 and died on 26/10/1914. We also understand that his father was Michael Darmody. Other than that we're at a loss.

We'll probably be in SA next year and plan on spending  some time around the Flinders where my wife's family lived (hence the enquiry). Will also spend time at SAGHS and State Library.
