Patrick Gillick

Hi
Seeking information on Patrick Gillick of Craddock or Wilson, South Australia born about 1845 and married Bridget McAuley. Specifically details of parents also dates of birth for children- Ellen, Margaret, Rose, May, Maud & Jane. We already have full details of their son James Michael Gillick. Rose Gillick was born about 1890 and migrated to USA in 1920.

I can see a birth for Ellen Catherine Gillick with parents Patrick and Bridget McAuley on 28th April 1881 at Wirreanda.

Here's the marriage of Patrick and Bridget.....

Patrick GILLICK aged 28 and single married Bridget MCAULEY aged 22 and single on 24th February 1873 at the Church of the Immaculate Heart, Georgetown.
Fathers = John MCGILLICK & Martin MCAULEY
Ref = Cla 94/605

This looks like Bridget's death......

Bridget Marion GILLICK aged 60, married, and resident of Cradock, died on 12th October 1906 at Cradock.
Husband =Patrick GILLICK
Ref = Fro 321/170

BISA only reveals that Patrick had arrived in South Australia by 1878, and was a farmer who married Bridget McAuley, who was born about 1846 and whose father was Martin. According to BISA Bridget died on the 12th October 1906 at Wilson.
They resided at Cradock and Parachilna.

if you  search  the NAA you will see  two records for Rose Dorothy GILLICK  one  for her WW1 service and  the other when she comes back  to Austalia in 1955 a lovely  photo of her is in that file.

Now  in  her war file  it state her date of birth as 29/9/1886 Craddock SA   but  I  cannot  locate a birth  in SA for her ( AS Gennie has said  no births but one registered in SA)

Dear Westskip,

I'm new to this platform and just found this thread. We have been updating the Mcauley and Gillicks from Georgetown SA in Wikitree while trying to find ore information on my great grandmother, Jane Matilda Mcauley (sister of Bridget Gillick nee Mcauley) - wondering if your research has taken you in that direction. Thanks to GenealogySA and TROVE So far we cant find any info on the birth place of Jane Matilda, and we'd be thrilled to find any images of the family to add to the public record.
