1901 Census Look-up Alfred Reid *COMPLETED*
« on: Thursday 26 February 09 18:02 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for a Alfred Reid in the 1901 census.  His details are as follows:-

Name:-  Alfred Reid
DOB:-  approx 1886 (so about 14 in 1901)
Place born:-  Unknown
Location:-  possible Preston, Lancs (in1906 he was living at 37 Charlotte Street, Preston)

Family:-  Father is Thomas Edward Reid, an Iron dresser in 1906

I am afraid thats all in information I have.  I hope it is enough to get a good match.

Thanks for your help

The 1891 would give a better chance of finding him with that father ...  :)

not obvious in 1901 - only about 8 with that YoB +/-2 years, most have fathers NOT called Thomas.......

I wonder if both parents were known by their middle names - this is the one likely marriage I can find:

Dec 1874 Preston 8e 865
Thomas Eward Reid to possibly Mary Margaret Sumner

and indeed there's a birth for Mary Margaret Sumner in Preston 1856:
Mary Margaret Sumner
Mar 1856 Preston 8e 432

Shout if you want the 1861/1871 census details for her  :)
