Thanks and yes the name Still was Margarets maiden name. Obviously the spelling is wrong with the Findlay, perhaps I should serch Finlay ans see what comes up.

.... just to clarify ....

The marriage for Margaret and Alexander, is listed under the correct spelling of FINDLAY, in the online records.

JAMES KEITH 1895 parents Agnes and Arthur, how did you get that info? I tried wont tell me anything, just comes up with cant find  anything. Now I am wondering if Alexander and Margaret adopted him as there are a Agnus and Arthur.

Re JAMES KEITH FINDLAY
Go to
http://bdmhistoricalrecords.identityservices.govt.nz/home/
search births, best to leave firstname open
Enter FINDLAY in "Family Name" and select dates eg 01/01/1885 to 01/01/1900
From memory they also had other children
Just tried to check but site is on the blink..overload no doubt

Are you not seeing the parents for any? or just can't see this entry?
Bye

Hmmm  ... just noting  ... the two boys who went to war :

*    They both enlisted in (presumably)1916 ?
       - Norman Leonard - embarkation date - 7 December 1916

       - James Keith - embarkation - 8 January 1916.

BOTH have fathers listed as next of kin

BOTH fathers are listed as "A. FINDLAY"

BUT  ... both these fathers are shown at different addresses ?      One at Marton, the other at Wanganui.

(Sure ... there might have been a change of address from Marton to Wanganui in the intervening months.    I do think though, that James Keith FINDLAY's father ("Mr. A") is more likely to be perhaps "Arthur FINDLAY" ??)

An electoral roll check (for Marton and Wanganui - around 1915-16) might solve the issue ?
