Great transcription Hiraeth - I hope you don't mind that I used it and added to it a little bit :)  I've tried to bold everything that's mine, but I might have missed some...

Hi,

What brilliant translations and what a fascinating document  :D

If it helps - 'Uxor' is Latin for wife, spouse.

I too had a look at the document and saw that Mary was quite a girl - but didn't have time to transcribe it.

Minnie, do tell us what happened to Mary next!

She probably ended up as an extremely respectable member of Launceston society!

I hope so.

Sad that her husband died; or not, depending on the nature of the relationship, I suppose.  From the record, I can hardly visualise them sitting by the fire, he with his pipe, her with her knitting, and a nice pot of tea on the hob.

But at least we don't need to worry that she might have gone off the rails after his death, can we!!!  If you find out any more about here, I'd be really interested to hear from you.

Thanks to your post with the link to the convict registers I have enjoyed many hours of reading.  what a fantastic resource for research about those times.    Nearly every page is compelling material.  Wonderful - thank you very much :)

Bit of an update on  MARY CULLY.

Mary married John Griffiths as we know whilst still a convict.
They had 2 children Sarah Ann and John.

Both lines have gone on to big families.

John Griffiths  Snr died in 1841. @ years before Mary got her ticket of leave.

Once a free woman she went on in 1845 to Marry a Samuel North. who i believe was also a convict. (Still checking him out) they had no children and after a tough life she died in launceston in 1855. age just 44 years old.

So no fan fare for poor mary cully . Just a hard life  :)
