Annie Pugh born in Llangollen in 1863

The 1881 Census shows this possible ancestor aged 18yrs living at the YWCA hostel in Liverpool. She is the correct age to be the wife of John Crowe my late Grandfather a seaman of Liverpool who married in 1889.  Her father David Pugh was deceased by the time of the marriage.  I'm seeking her birth/Christening details as a first step in proving a relationship.  I've tried the Wrexham BMD online service without success.

Thanks for the reply.  Which free bmd are you using as freebmd.rootsweb.com does not deliver the goods?

Hi Airman

Welcome to rootschat :)

There are two births on freeBMD for Anne PUGH registered in Corwen Reg District which might be possibilities for your Annie.

Sep Q 1862  CORWEN 11b 406
Dec Q 1863  CORWEN 11b 405

If she was age 18 on the 1881 census the 1862 one would be my best guess.

Do you have Annie on any other censuses?

Heather
