Help reading Will please COMPLETED
« on: Thursday 05 March 09 13:28 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

Please could someone tell me the word beginning with 'p' which occurs a few times in this passage in relation to the payments to be made to Mary.

Thank you

Do you mean the word 'payment' ?

looks a bit like pinpoint at first, but looking closer it is actually payment
the tops of the letter 'a' s are not closed

Like Barbara, the only word I can see starting with a 'p' in this passage is 'payment' which occurs 3 times.

I don't think that fits with the last one 'at his own expense for the due proposed of the said weekly sum' - certainly looks more like payment here

I agree with Barbara - try reading it with the word 'proposed' in place of 'payment' - it doesn't make sense.

Thank you all for your help on this.

I think it is payment.  When reading it the y  just looked like a p to me and did not make any sense at all.  It occurred to me that it might have  been a 'legal term' hence my reason for posting it.
