Fookes in Jersey
« on: Friday 06 March 09 06:57 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone help me in finding any information about my Fookes family that were living at 1 Don Road, St Saviour, Jersey according to the 1861 census. They were Joseph Fookes, his wife Jane and daughter Eliza Jane.

Joseph Fookes was an Officer in the Royal Navy.

Was wondering if Eliza Jane married on the Island and if Joesph or Jane died there?
Any information about this family on the Island would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you. ::)

Hi

I have searched the indexes for St Helier and St Saviour but cannot find a marriage for Eliza.

However I have the deaths:

Jane Fookes - St Helier Deaths, Feb 1866 to Feb 1867, volume 18, page 903.
Joseph Fookes - St Helier Deaths, Feb 1867 to May 1868, volume 19, page 32.

Hope that helps.

Stewart

 :o Oh my goodness...!,  Stewart, thank you sooo much. This is great news.
I cannot tell you how excited I am with this information.

How and where from can I purchase copies of their death certificates?

Kind regards
Carol
