Ann not at home in 1861, so maybe that's why Harriet was with aunt - and as Tazzie says, just stayed

A son, Jarvis Rosier, 10 b Wetheringsett, is with him

Jarvis seems to be David J. Rosier in 1891, in service in Cottingley, Yorks: RG12/3534/25/5

...and simply David Rosier at birth reg, Jun 1870 Hartismere 4a 559.  I wonder whether his mother died of complications from the birth.

That could be the reason she is with aunt & uncle then....if Ann suffered after the birth what we would say post natal depression now......she may have been locked away if she could not cope with looking after a small child.

I think the birth cert will answer things clearly.

I think the birth cert will answer things clearly.

I think we've all done very well without it  ;D

Over to you, Alison, for the birth cert, and if you could come back and post the details, we'd all like to know the outcome
