Main St. (2nd) Presbyterian Church baptisms:
1900 (no date)- Mary, Robert, Annie Blakes- father Alexr Blakes- all adults
1900, 15 July- James Blakes- Mary Blakes- 4 Apr.1900
1905, 9 Oct.- John Blakes (Samuel Trolan?) Letitia Blakes- 31 July 1905

From John's baptism it looks like the father was thought to be a Samuel Trolan but from the question mark the minister (or Letitia) weren't sure. It would not have been the first time there was doubt about who the father of one of the Blake children actually was.

Does this John Blake appear as a son on the 1911 census to William james Smyth and Letitia Blake, or is he mentioned elsewhere ?

Don't have bit of 1911 census that shows them. 1911 is supposed to be added to National Archives, Dublin website 'soon'.

Just a few more bits.
I know Alexander Blake and Sarah Donnelly had a son Alexander - he married Mary Faulkner
Which one is the butcher ?
Sandy Blakes Butcher was married to Sarah Jane Donnelly.

Alexander Blake, son of Alexander & Sarah Jane, labourer, Carrowreagh, married 19 May 1896 Aghadowey Presbyterian Church to Mary Faulkner of Moyletragh.

Alexander Blakes (son of Alexander & Sarah Jane)
1900 grocer, 1904 confectioner & grocer, 1916-1923 Main Street Garvagh

Son Robert Blakes, Limavady, m.Oct.1910 Margaret "Maggie" McLean (although she seems to have gone by a variety of names).

Robert Blake m.Oct./Dec.1911 Coleraine Registration District to Margaret Jane Meehan (in 1919 court testimony supposed to be married Oct.1910 but this is either a case of poor recollection, newspaper misprint or reporter getting slightly muddled)- she had daughter Sarah Meehan before her marriage so Meehan rather than McLean makes sense.

Son Robert bc 1879 married Mgt Meehan - he died 1962 - buried in Agh C of I.

I believe Robert Blake and Margaret Jane Meehan to be my great-grandparents.
I recorded Robert's death to be 31 May 1962 but I don't have my sources handy to confirm.
Robert Blake served 12 years in the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers.
Robert and Margaret Jane married 04 Oct 1911 at St. Patricks, Coleraine, Co. Londonderry

1919 Court Testimony? - Margaret Jane Meehan
« Reply #16 on: Monday 03 December 18 18:29 GMT (UK) »

Why was Margaret Jane Meehan giving "court testimony" in 1919? What is the source for her court appearance?
