Looking for Meredith family

My ancestors come from Montgomeryshire, I have got as far as my Great grandfather who was Richard meredith born in1867 in Newtown, need some help with this, is this a common family name in this area, what are my chances of finding other generations?

There was only one other Richard Meredith in that age year on the 1871 and he was b Merionethshire
