Hi Krissy,
The Canadian Archives ( Archives Canada) have a WWI site where if you have his name they will have his attestation papers on line ( the scan of the actual documen). It is free, you can also order his military records for WWI at the same time.  The attestation papers will list next of kin, address etc at time of his sign up.  The address is

http://www.collectionscanada.ca/archivianet/020106_e.html

When you get the page click on the "search data base" then follow instructions.
Good luck, if you need any more help just personal message me.

Hi again Krissy,
I looked in the site and found your relative under Fred Jefferis.
I have attached the front page of his attestation papers.
You can go to the site and see the 2nd side of the paper, and order infor for the military records of Fred/

Hi Krissy,
I have attached the 2nd side for you.
Hope this all helps. By the way his military record may tell you where he was shipped to after the war.
