Hi BarrieT,

The 1841 census shows 2 David Williams at Penrhos Lligwy, one age 8 and one age 5.

I like this one, not only because it's a better match agewise but also because of mum's first name

1841
HO107/1362/13 7 5
Penrhos Lligwy, Anglesey

William Williams, 40? (could be 49/60/69) , Ag labourer
Letitia, 40
Mary, 12
David, 8
Letictia, 6
Elizabeth, 3

All born in county

There's an address but I'm unable to read it - something like Tyn'y Mynydd

Thanks Tati

This is what I have so far

1871 David Williams age 37 Pork Butcher living in Bangor
        wife  Ellen Williams age 34
        William 13: Edward 11: Lettice 9: David 5: Thomas 3 : Catherine Ellen 11months
1881 David Williams age 48 Pork Butcher living in Bangor
         wife Ellen 47
         William 22: Edward 21: David14: Thomas 12: Catherine E 10:John 8: Margaret J 6:
         Mary E 3:  Isacc
1891  David Williams age 58 Pork butcher living in Bangor
         wife Ellen 56
Catherine Ellen 21: John 18: Margaret Jane 15: Isaac 10
1901  Ellen Williams widow living in Bangor
         Margaret 27: Isaac 2

After much searching I cannot find David Williams in 1861. He should be shown with a family unit of wife Ellen and children William age 3 and Edward age 1. I have searched with Ellens name and William/Edward.

Thank you for the clues in the 1841 and 1851 census I really need to make the link which shows that William and Letitia were in fact David's parents.

Do the baptismal records show parents names?
I am going to Anglesey in June and hoping to look at these records in Llangefni Records Office.

Thanks for you help BarrieT

Yes, baptisms would show parents' names (not mother's surname though).

However, what you need to find in my opinion is David's marriage cert, to make a link with any christening you'd find.

If you want Bangor records you will need to go to Caernarvon to search the records. I've been through all 197 pages of the Bangor 1861 census and there is no David and/or Ellen showing that are anywhere near the ages you have.
Have you got the address they were living at in the 1871 census as I can check that for you.
Jones, Parry, Williams on Lleyn, Hughes, Thomas on Anglesey/Caernarvonshire, Blunt, Davies, Lee in Dudley, Staffs
