The right column I think starts Alex  ..... his X mark
... present
Sorry I can't work out the rest just yet :)
Anderson R&C & Orkney, Jack, Patience, Hood R&C, McVicar Argll & Glasgow, Gourlay Glasgow, Docherty Glasgow, McNicol Argyll, Leask Orkney, Cumming Okney,
Tait Orkney, Brown Orkney, Sinclair Orkney, Craigie Orkney, Foulis Orkney, Beard Gloucester & Bundarra NSW, Pamplin Cambridge & NSW, Ashman Cambridge, McCarthy Ireland & Glen Innes NSW, Raleigh Ireland, Connelly Ireland, Waldron Ireland.

If you submit a Contact Form to ScotlandsPeople, I'm sure they'll provide a more legible copy!

The informant is Alex Fraser, Father, Not present (i.e. at the birth), who signed with his mark; his mark was witnessed by the Register.

Alex Fraser

his mark means that he cannot write. He marks the page with an x and the registrar will write the fathers name beside it.Also place of birth should be in the first few columns of the birth cert
