Hi
Thank you for your reply, I can't understand why they are not on the 1901 census.....they were married in 1900 and they were living in Leeswood in the 1920 Electoral rolls and then in 1922 Elizabeth Hughes was definitely still at 9 Long Row, Leeswood as she was on My great granmother death cerfiticate.  I don't get this at all....unless they moved away somewhere for a while and then came back? possible maybe?

:)Ohh!!!! Thank you so much........this is smashing, bless you, thank you very, very kindly.  This means I now know where they went and where he was born.......so he was actually born in Padeswood, this is what I was not sure of as I thought although he was living there when married he may not have been actually born there.........thank you so much.
Did they have any children on there do you mind my asking?  if not they may be on the 1911 which I can look up as I think that area is online now.

Hi Heather
Wow, people are so helpful on here, took me five years to realise this site was here.....shame on me.

Yes, the second one looks the more likely to me, Joseph Edward Hughes was his full name. Thank you very kindly for that information, this will give me a lead on both parents now.

You're welcome Jeanette

There were no children listed in 1901.

They are both in Pontefract West Riding in 1911.  With at least one child Albert Edward Hughes age 5.

Heather

ADDED It looks like three TWO more children - sorry am not very good at this wildcard searching!
Rose Ann HUGHES age 10 (sorry - wrong household :-[)
Mary Lizzie HUGHES age 9
Phyllis May HUGHES age 1
Albert Edward was actually age 6 (also need to wear my glasses ;D

You should probably get the transcript to make sure these are all correct.
