 :o Wow Heather, Thank you.  I mean that, thank you so much.  I don't have a clue how to wildcard search on the 1911.  I can only go by one name......Still got so much to learn after all this time.

That is truly such a help to me though, I thank you so very much.  I will purchase the transcript as you say, but this is really good now I can continue with the line..

I just came across this site – it seems a wonderful resource!

My grandfather was Joseph Edward Hughes, born in Mold. He was a miner and became Mayor of St Helens (1941). I never knew his wife (my grandmother). Their children were Albert, George, Marion and Arthur (my father, who died in 1974). I would be grateful if anyone has any details about this family. Thank you in advance.
