Hi
On the unassisted passenger listings a possibility.
Age not too far out...

http://proarchives.imagineering.com.au/Index_search.asp?searchid=23

BIRD, HENRY age 46 date JAN 1913 ship BELTANA from Brithish port.
As the marriage was also 1913, it could have been in the later months of the year. ???

Sue

NO, forget that one, this was a married man with wife and child on the same voyage.

Hello All :)
Thanks a lot for the interest/work.
I'm really keen to link up with any descendents in order to enquire into any of their family memorabilia regarding my grandfather.  The Birds, Kemps and several other families were very close friends = some of them also coming out from England and starting lives here.
Muchas gracias,
Julie ;D

Hello  ther Julie

If  you are only looking for descendants  per haps  you  could try  the  white pages.

We  can  only  give you  deaths of these people,  you  would then  have  to try and find  in  newspapers  their funeral or obituary notices.

Perhaps  you  could  try  putting an add in  the personal  colum of  the Melbourne paper.
You  could also  try Genses Reunited  you  could very well get matches  to your family  there.

kind  thoughts Jenn

Hi Julie,
I am feeling a bit unsure about the main purpose of your enquiry.

There are Rchatters here who will be glad to continue thir efforts to help, but I, for one, feel confused about your goals.

At the outset you say
I have been unable to find him on the reg in Australia.
Would someone be able to tell me if it is possible to find out more?

So we have offered a few ideas, but now you say you are looking for living people to exchange things with.

Can you clarify things for us ;D

You may not have noticed a couple of queries contained in the replies.  Are you able to answer them and to let us know if any of the information provided has been of use to you?

Sue

Hello All,
Thanks for the help and support.

Sorry Sue if i came across confused/scattered.  My mine goal was to see if i could learn anything about them first up via the superb website before i ventured further.

I have since found that Henry Malcolm's father Henry MacPherson Bird was born 14 Jan 1863 in Glasgow; IGI.  Confirms his parents as Gregory Bird and Mary MacPherson.  Henry MacPherson appears on a 1909 electoral role in St Kilda; he also was on an 1881 Scotland census which gives all his birth family.  I expect he emigrated between 1881 and 1909.  This is now what i'm working on.

Kind regards,
Julie

Hello Julie,

This is a very old thread and you might not be interested anymore, but I can tell you that Henry Malcolm Bird (1915 - 1982) was my grandfather.

If you're still interested in finding out some more information about him (marriage, descendants) send me a message.

Cheers
Steve

Hello Steve
regarding ancestry of a different sought
I own your grandfather Malcolm Bird's 62 Lancia Flaminia car. it appears he bought it new in Melbourne and here it has stayed.

I am wondering if you have any history or memory of this vehicle?
regards Tim
