Whats his surname?

i've included the name above the one  i want so you have a little something to go by,

John   ??? who??



This is another one i'm transcribing as a practice.  I put Hancock but it was wrong. the " Clue" i was given was "Horrocks is the cotton manufacturer but I said " the n needs replacing with a double letter, sounds similar to a Lancashire cotton manufacturer"."

Added - just seen the bit underneath - must admit I thought it should be Horrocks or Harrocks because they are more comon but I can't see 2 rs

I would have said Hancocks.
The second letter of the surname is an "a" surely?

Not sure what you're transcribing but there is a John Harcocks, b. 1815 on the 1851 for Lancashire.

But it looks like Sharrocks on the census image  ::)
