I entered 'Padeswood' into the 1881 census and got 24 entries.  What name are you looking for?
Davies, Bywater, Murray, Gaunt, Benton, Jones, Richardson

Hi Mike
Thank you for the reply.  I am looking for Joseph Edward Hughes , his Father was John and Mother Mary.  Joseph was born around 1880 in Padeswood so I thought I may still find them in that area but the only one I could find that fitted as in Joseph E Hughes and parents names etc was in Buckley Lane, Bistre.

Hi Jeanette.  Just had a look at the 1881 census and found the entry you mentioned.  The family lived at Buckley Lane, next entry on the census to Megs Lane.   Looking at a map, Megs Lane is still there and it is almost in Padeswood but the area was called Bistree (today I think it is Bistre).  So it could be the right one.

Hi Mike
Thank you for looking into that for me....I am pretty convinced it is the correct family now as I found them again in 1891 living in the same area and the brothers born in Padeswood and some listed as Buckley....so it all fits pretty well.

Thanks again for your help, very appreciated.

Jeanette

Hi Jeanette
I couldn't see a baptism for Joseph Edward around 1880 in Bistre or Buckley
Do you think it could be Pontblyddyn :-\ It's only down the road.

Paul.

Hi again Jeanette.  The North Wales BMD gives a birth for a Joseph Edward Hughes in Mold in 1882.  It might be worth a look at the site:- http://www.northwalesbmd.org.uk/bmd_welcome.html.
and ordering a certificate to see if it is the right one. Try an email to this address:- registrars@flintshire.gov.uk
