Thank you to Marc and all those involved.
As of to day Sidney Wilkinsons 1914-1918 medal is as I type on it's way to Sidney's Nephew, Alfred Wilkinson.
Many, many thanks once again to all who helped.
I hope I can return the favour some day.
George

Hi Alan
I have now reunited Sidney's medal with as near a relative as i can find.  I have in the process acquired a significant amount of info on Sid along the way - much of it from users on FRU.
If you want details then please let me know

Hello I just came across your post. I am so glad you found his nephew to give his war medal to.That is an amazing piece of history. Sidney James Wilkinson is my mother in law's Great Uncle. I have found several records in relation to his service in the war & burial information.

I would love to connect with any family out there.Anymore information anyone can provide regarding the Wilkinson line that would be fantastic. Pictures of family would be great too.If anyone would like the records I have found please feel free to contact me. Thank you so much.

Hello
My name is Angela Wilkinson and my grandfather Herbert was Sidney's brother.
My father (*) is still alive, would be lovely to talk with you as it seems we are related in some distant way.
I have been working on our family tree for over 2 years and now have 700 members.
Would love to hear from you.
