Family History Fairs
« on: Wednesday 16 February 05 22:27 GMT (UK) »
Having never attended one of these I would be grateful for any advice or insights, as there is one coming up in Wolverhamppton fairly soon.

Are they worth visiting? What kind of stall are there? What is on offer?

Any tips on getting the best out of them?

Best Wishes
David

Hi David

I live in Oz & have never attended such a fair, but if you posted this query on the Common Room board you would probably get more replies. You could also try a search of rootschat because fairs have been discussed previously.

Adria,

Can't help with when but a family history fair consists of lots of stalls all selling genealogical products.  There usually is a refreshment area as well.  They are a great place to meet people and talk about genealogy and they are oh so friendly.  For some of us they are a place we make a little and spend a lot.  So unless you have a bottomless wallet/purse set yourself a spending limit or you will be going home with the national debt.
